The increases that are coming up: prepaid, light and cell phones

The rates of some services such as prepaid medicine, cellular telephony and electricity in the interior of Buenos Aires will arrive with increases in September.

The government has recently authorized a 5% increase in prepaid quotas since September 1, while in October there will be a similar adjustment that has yet to be formalized.

The increase in prepaid quotas will exceed government forecast inflation this year: the already authorized increases in February (6%), July (6%), August (5%) and September (5%) Will add another 5% in October, which will soon be formalized by the Executive Branch.

On the other hand, mobile phone users who are Movistar customers will experience an increase of up to 12% from next month, while Personal will adjust in October.

As companies are obliged by regulations to announce increases in advance to their customers, Movistar has already begun to communicate that since September 25, prepaid customers will have an average increase of 12%. In turn, users who are in the postpaid mode (with invoice) will have an adjustment similar to the cut of the billing for that period.

For its part, Personal, the company of cellular of Telecom, will raise 4% in average the prices for the prepaid customers from next October 8. It had already applied a rise of 9.5% for its prepaid and subscription users last June.

Meanwhile, energy distributors in the interior of the province of Buenos Aires will begin to issue light bills with increases that will be around 58% average from September.

The increase that had been announced by the provincial government but paralyzed by the Justice will reach users of EDEA, EDEN, EDES, Edelap and the nearly 200 cooperatives that provide the service.
